How it came to be...

Steve and Paige first met in the winter of 2007 at The Ohio State University during an event hosted by Joshua House, the Young Adult community of Vineyard Columbus. They had many mutual friends and continued to run into each other over the years. Steve's roommates attended church with Paige and she began hanging around the house more often during the summer of 2011. By the end of that year Steve was making several (legitimate) excuses be near this attractive and dynamic young lady, and Paige wondered whether there was anything more to their "meetings."

After friendly provocation from some friends, Steve asked Paige to a sandwich on October 25th. Through many dates to Chipotle and Northstar, trips to Montana and Washington DC, and endless conversations and debates about politics and religion, the two grew closer.

This past November the time came for Steve to take Bruce and Jo Bailey out to dinner in Westerville and ask for their blessing to spend the rest of his life with their daughter. They agreed, and on Christmas morning 2012 they let him into their home at 0730 and helped him make breakfast. Steve then woke Paige, who was surprised and a little suspicious, and they enjoyed one of Paige's favorite breakfast dishes with some very good coffee. Steve then presented a card and a DVD he made for her showing him speaking to their relationship and to their love. After those 7 minutes (he rambled just slightly), Steve got down on both knees and told Paige that there was no other woman, nor any other options for him at all, and asked her to journey forward with him in marriage. She said YES! After this, the two watched the rest of the DVD which consisted of 40 minutes of Paige's friends expressing their love for her and support of Steve. They spent the rest of Christmas with family and a few friends celebrating and beginning to think ahead toward the rest of their lives...
